The Deccan Herald has an interesting article on homework here. My take on it:
I really agree that young children should not be given much,
if any, homework. And, after teaching high school for 35 years, and having many
conversations about homework with my students, I also agree that all kids are
different. I don't know of any students,
however, that were still doing well by high school who had parents who were
still supervising homework. A warm
interest in your child's work is good, but setting up times to study and
overseeing the work usually is counter-productive.
