has an opinion piece here by a congressman and by the former governor of West
Virginia arguing the need for advanced technology in all schools to close the
learning gap between rich and poor students.
Technology is useful, but more
access to books is what kids really need. Kids need advanced reading skills to
read textbooks, no matter if the books are online or in hard copy. And
sophisticated reading skills are only acquired through wide, avid reading
