Ed Week has an article here describing two
different ways of using technology in professional development. The goal was to get teachers competent in
seven C words (“care, control, clarify, challenge, captivate, confer, and
consolidate"). I'm not making this up.
Oh
those seven C’s (“care, control, clarify, challenge, captivate, confer, and consolidate.”) No mention of inspiring students, of laughing
with students, of teaching them to love knowledge and learning. I wonder who the genius was who decided he
could stuff all classroom interactions into seven C words. It sounds like something from a National
Lampoon movie.
