STEM Education

The Huffington Post here has an editorial calling for more investment in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) courses for minority students

Yes, it is critical that all students have very good access to STEM education.  However, what makes it possible for students to access this training are excellent reading skills.  And students acquire excellent reading skills through wide, avid reading.

So along with more funding for technology, we need better funded libraries, and curriculum changes that stress the development of a love of reading.
